Heat Wave

There are a lot of things I am going to miss about New York, but this is not one of them...

Saturday June 7, 200897F/ 85% humidity
It was soooooo hot this weekend, but we still had fun.
Friday night we had dinner at our favorite local Italian restaurant called Zaza. They have a really cute garden area out back and it was such a pleasant evening eating and chatting. Saturday I got up early and dragged myself to Queens to get my hair done. After I got back to the city we went to a funeral for a friend from church. I know it sounds really cliche but it was a really nice service and the spirit was really strong. A woman sang "How Great Thou Art" and it was the best musical number I have ever heard. A friend used the word transcendent to describe it and I agree. After the funeral we ventured out in the heat with some friend to go to the BBQ block party at Madison Square park and for Shake Shack burgers. We went to see the Adam Sandler movie after and it was really really bad (sorry Dan and Caitlin we owe you). Sunday I had to teach at church and then we spent the rest of the day relaxing inside with the A/C blasting.
