Fixing my Melon

Our little baby girl was born with especially weak neck muscles. So she always favored turning her head to the left side. Even after physical therapy visits and trying to reposition her head as much as possible she still formed a flat spot on the back of her head. As she got older it became more visible and you could see it was affecting the shape of her face. It is called Plagiocephaly. So she was fitted for a DOC band and she got it on October 8 2013. This whole process was way more painful on me then on her, and she still looks pretty cute. She is now in her second band (she out grew her first). She has just a few more months left. She wears it 23 hours a day. We take it off at night to clean it and clean her and it goes right back on. She doesn't seem to mind it. But at night when we take it off she scratches her head and plays with her hair. It is pretty cute. The only thing we are worried about is that she is not learning the life lesson she should be learning. She throws her head around like it is no big thing because she has protection at all times. So we are a little worried that when we take it off for good she might have a few bumps and bruises until she learns to protect her little head.
